Interdink Farming Project (Krugersdorp/Randfontein Gauteng)

The total farm is 13.2 ha in size. 80 tunnels are currently installed on 6ha of the land. Lettuce was planted and harvested during the 2016 winter crop (2600 lettuce seedlings per tunnel). Tomatoes have also been planted and harvested successfully and the next planned crop will be potatoes. The project is of Regional and National importance as it benefits the local community through sustainable job creation and skills development. With the current 80 tunnels the project has created 27 sustainable jobs. Employees are former disadvantaged communities residing within the jurisdiction of Mogale City Local Municipality.
