DICLA FARM AND SEED COMPANY PROFILE

In 1993, Mr Dirk Tijssen began to experiment with designing and erecting tunnels for his own use. This was extremely successful and he soon had 18 tunnels with flowers and vegetables in production.

About a year later, Rijk Zwaan Seeds, a seed company based in the Netherlands, appointed Mr Tijssen as soul distributor of vegetable seeds. Mr Tijssen started manufacturing tunnels for customers in his area at the same time.

In 2009, Dicla Farm and Seed CC and Tijbros Agricultural Machinery CC merged, forming Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd. Over the years Dicla has expanded their range of services and products and now supplies tunnels, irrigation equipment, greenhouse film, shadenet, tractors, agricultural implements, forklifts, earthmoving equipment, poultry supplies, aquaculture systems and related goods.

Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd is currently a large supplier to government departments throughout South Africa, e.g. Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Rural Development and Department of Social Development to name a few.

We are the sole importers of agricultural and construction machinery from several international companies, such as Farmtrac Poland, Farmtrac India, Shinheung Industries Korea, Shenyang Agricultural Machinery China, and Cukurova Turkey. These products are being distributed nationwide.

Dicla is also involved in training with its sister company, Dicla Training and Farming CC.

In January 2011, Mr Johan Tijssen, son of Mr Dirk Tijssen, took over from his father. As the owner and Managing Director of Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd, he is taking the company to new heights, continuing to build on the solid foundation that has father has established.
